Alfred Banks
Alfred Banks
The emergent New Orleans rapper Alfred Banks has garnered critical acclaim from some of rap’s most esteemed publications. In addition to being named one of Complex’s 10 upcoming New Orleans MCs, Banks has been featured prominently on HipHopDx, Okayplayer & on DJBooth’s list of Top indie rappers from Louisiana. Having played at Voodoo Festival, Buku Festival, Atlanta’s A3C Festival, and Austin’s SXSW, Banks has also made headway in Europe, starring in a Volkswagen ad campaign featuring his song “HomeComing” in addition to achieving performances in Germany and Spain. In late 2016, BBC Russia interviewed Banks, extending his reach well beyond Europe. Most Recently, Alfred’s Song “UnderDogCentral” can be heard in the Netflix Movie “Burning Sands”, which was Executively Produced by Common.

Banks recently released his 3rd LP, The Beautiful. The Beautiful, Inspired by his brother’s struggle with mental illness and his eventual suicide, serves as his most successful to date with a Debut at #12 on iTunes’ “Rap/HipHop” Charts & #79 on BillBoard’s “HeatSeeker” Charts. The album features a conceptual approach dealing with schizophrenia and the complexity of identity. The National Alliance of Mental Illness (NAMI) & UnMaskNola both took notice of Banks’s music and its focus on mental-health awareness, and partnered with him on promotional efforts for The Beautiful.

In 2014, Banks joined former XXL Freshman Mickey Factz’s 15-city “The Red or Blue Pill Tour”. In 2016, Alfred Headlined his own “The Beautiful” Tour of 17 cities & most recently toured with MegaRan on his #ExtraCreditTour. Banks has also shared the stage with the likes of Snoop Dogg, Chris Brown, Lupe Fiasco, The Wu-Tang Clan, and A$AP Ferg, and his live show earned the attention of RevoltTV, who crowned Banks the winner of their 2015 “LocalLoveTour” competition. Additionally, Banks has collaborated with Bay area superstar G-Eazy for the song “My Style.”

Banks, who struggled with homelessness while attending Loyola University on a full-ride scholarship, opted to leave academia behind and pursue MCing full-time. Outside of music, the New Orleans native has made a name for himself through his unapologetic sense of personal style, and can often be seen sporting a fresh pair of sneakers and a scarf tied around his mic. His sense of individualism is something he applies to his life mantra, which is embodied by his UnderdogCentral movement. Created in 2012, UnderdogCentral is a metaphor & represents the Place where the Overlooked go to hone their skills & return to become the admired.

A producer since the age of 17, Chase has gone on to create critically acclaimed records such as the quadruple platinum singles "Drop The World" (Lil Wayne feat. Eminem, ReBirth 2010) and "Look What You've Done", the heartfelt track from Grammy Award-winning Album of the Year, Take Care (Drake, 2011). With producer credits with everyone from Beyonce (“Rise” - Epic Soundtrack) to J. Cole (“Neverland”) to Brandy and The Pussycat Dolls, Chase has also released a number of solo and collaboration albums of his own, including the most recent “The Black Jesus” EP with Jansport J.

Born Jesse Woodard IV and raised in New Orleans, LA., Chase N. Cashe developed a love for music in middle school. A self taught musician, Chase’s first song was recorded in 2001 and his first beat created in 2003. Shortly after surviving Hurricane Katrina, Chase moved to Los Angeles where he met fellow producer Chauncey “Hit-Boy” Hollis and formed Surf Club, the team behind “Drop The World” and Brandy’s First & Love” . The duo went on to sign a production deal with Zone 4 Inc., founded by Atlanta’s super producer Polow Da Don and backed by Interscope Records.

A master on the boards and in the booth, Chase released his debut album Gumbeaux in 2011, which was shortly followed by a steady flow of releases including The Heir Up There hosted by DJ Drama (2012), CHARM (2012), The Best There Is… (2014) , The Heir Up There 2 (2016) , La Playa (2016), Cashe Rules 2 (2016) and his latest EP, We Never Close (2016) featuring the popular street single "Can't Go Backwards". Chase was selected as a solo opening act on Drake's "Club Paradise" Tour w/ ASAP Rocky & Kendrick Lamar in 2012 and later went on to earn a spot in XXL's Unsigned Hype.

With the ability to combine his wisdom with an open minded approach to sharing his creative energy, it is no mistake that Chase has an ear and eye for who and what's next. Chase's intent is to bring new & old styles and sounds together to create a world that's attractive for all lovers of art.

"There is no substitute for a true, experienced and authentic DJ.

New DJ's tend to get in the business for the "job perks" rather than the gift, passion, skill and personal-purpose.

True DJ's are purposed to make people feel good by giving them something to lose themselves in. For venue owners and promoters, dancing feet begets thirsty patrons, which begets money for the bar.

New DJ's tend to see the money and the recognition and think all they have to do is play an iPod playlist (which is typical so beware) and that's that! They couldn't be more wrong.

Experienced DJ's study their crowd. I am a living crowd-barometer, playing the right music based upon the crowd's: "ooohhhh's and aaahhhhh's" whenever a record is dropped. Music to my ears. . .

Authentic DJ's are serious audiophiles with a wealth of music knowledge that transcends genre and time period!" - DJ E.F. Cuttin
